Ever feel like work small talk is a waste of time?

In our virtual and hybrid work environments, 44% of workers say their manager doesn’t encourage socialization. More than a third say it isn’t part of the normal workday and that they don’t have time to socialize. Only 6 of 10 workers agree their bosses understand them. 

But, the better your relationships, the easier it is to ask for what you need. 

Want to connect quickly? Look for similarities with the other person. 

“Oh, we both have band-aids on. Did you cut your finger making dinner too?”

“I saw you have The 50th Law on your desk. I loved that book!”

Create a shared experience with words like “we,” “us,” and “you too?”
