Productive conflict, if you’re an analytical person

In the DiSC behavioral assessment (which we use in our communications workshops), analytical people have the “C” or “Conscientious” communication style.

During conflict, these are people looking for fairness, rationality, and accuracy.

Healthy conflict behaviors might include finding the root cause, sorting out the issues, giving people space, and focusing on the facts.

But unhealthy conflict behaviors may include overpowering with logic, getting passive-aggressive, avoiding emotional situations, and/or over-analyzing.

If you’re a C-style, remember that being wrong initially is okay, especially when you’re working out a problem with someone with another point of view.
