Still more “say this, not that”

Every time I hear someone use a phrase that might make them sound less confident, I write it down to share with you.

Here’s a few I’ve heard recently, with alternatives:

  • Does that make sense? → Any comments or feedback?

  • Sorry I missed that. → Thanks for catching that. I’m on it.

  • Would it be OK if I…? → I would like to…

  • I may be wrong, but… → Here’s what I’m thinking, based on…

  • I just wanted to follow up. → I need this by…because… Any updates?

  • So sorry to bother you! → When you have a moment…
