Raise expectations

Here’s a super easy phrase you can use to give someone feedback. It follows Kim Scott’s advice to challenge directly and care personally.

“I’m giving you these comments because I have very high expectations, and I’m confident you can reach them.”

Keep in mind that you really only have to hold co-workers accountable when work is not up to agreed-upon standards, or when they do something that hurts the team.
