Following up with direct communicators

Some people think fast and talk fast, using direct, results-oriented language that cuts to the “bottom line.” They say it straight, factually, and quickly, sometimes sternly.

In the language of DiSC, these people have the “D” or Dominant Style.

These are the types who aren’t likely to read a detailed, comprehensive follow-up email.

Because they value results and autonomy, when you follow up with them, you may be more effective staying high-level, getting right to the point, and maybe providing options to let them decide.

Keywords: Direct, results, and action.
