Depolarize

It’s Friday, let’s keep it short.

Here’s the last tip from Braver Angels on talking politics with people you disagree with. 

Use depolarizing language.

In other words, avoid labels such as “bigoted” or “unpatriotic.”

If someone offers their opinion and you slap a label on it, you’ll never have a meaningful conversation…or mend the relationship. 

We all can talk to people we disagree with. We can influence people to listen if we listen first. 

And, yes, we can even depolarize America.
