Your affirmative mindset

Want better performance from an employee? Stay in your affirmative mindset.

Try this framing: “Help me understand why you’re working at this level when you’re capable of operating at a much higher level.”

This does so much.

This framing can reduce the chance of them taking it the wrong way.

It challenges directly while showing you care personally.

It separates the person from the behavior.

It communicates your high expectations.

It just might inspire or help you understand what’s in the way.

It’s the affirmative coach who says, I recruited you because you’re the best, so help me understand why you’re not playing your best.
