Stop trying to be someone else

We watch inspirational presentations, funny people at parties, smooth talkers, and we think: I’m going to work hard to be more like them.

But it takes a lot of energy to be someone you’re not.

If you are funny, be funny.

If you are informal, be informal.

Stop performing, and just try to share your ideas and experiences in ways that others can hear, relate to, or simply understand.

How many people do you know that put on a mask when they get in front of a room? It’s exhausting.

Letting yourself shine through and being authentic is a lot easier.
