Questions to ask on your next interview
Want to get to know the person you’ll soon be working for? Here are a few questions to help understand what you’re getting yourself into, be it a new project or new job.
How would you describe your leadership style? Listen closely. Do they sound bossy?
How does your team celebrate success? Do they help people feel good about their wins?
What does success look like to you? Do they care only about results or their own advancement?
What does it look like to go above & beyond for this role? Get a clear picture of what your boss expects of you.
How do you ensure accountability? This will help you understand how they are when they have to have a difficult conversation.
What do you do when the team fails to achieve a goal? How do they handle project debriefs? Do they even have them?
What do you love most about your team? What do you want to see change? There’s no worse place to be than on a team that gets results, but everything else is broken.
You’re interviewing them just as much as they are you.
