Know your communication style

Ever wondered why connecting with some people is easier than with others?

Maybe you’ve noticed that you relate better to people who focus more on providing accurate and reliable details than people who just want you to “get to the point.”

Or, maybe you’re more comfortable with people who take a steady, cautious approach, rather than risk-takers or adventurous types.

Or, perhaps you relate best to people who are more self-controlled than outspoken.

Knowing your communication style can help you better understand why you’re reacting in different situations, and help you more quickly and easily connect with people whose styles and preferences differ from yours.

At the Confident Communicator, we use the DiSC model to help us understand the four communication styles. It looks like this.

Of course, it’s situational, and we don’t want to put anyone in a box, but do we all have a “home base” where things come naturally to us.

What’s your communication Style?
