Add proof points

If you’ve been reading the Daily Tip this week, your responses are already more confident-sounding because you grabbed the listener and had a succinct message.

Now, it’s time to support your message with proof points.

Let’s say you’ve answered the question “So, tell me about yourself” with the grabber and message, “I’d love to. I thrive on creative projects.”

Next, you can give your reasons: “First, I studied graphic design at a top school; second, I love working on campaigns that require strong design; and third, my portfolio is full of award-winning designs.”

To organize your thoughts, introduce your proof points with “First,” “Second,” “Third,” etc. This way, the listener will “hear” your structure and how organized you are.

Tomorrow’s Daily Tip will discuss how to finish off your response in a way that leaves people impressed with your confidence.
